| Terry Glenn. The 1995 Biletnikoff Award winner as the Nation's top receiver out of the University of Ohio State. Drafted in the first round, 7th overall in 1996 by the New England Patriots. Set a rookie record by catching 90 passes for 1,132 yards. Like many receivers of this generation, Glenn had problems off the field and was benched for the majority of the 2001 season by Coach Belichick and was traded to Green Bay in 2002. The following year he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. This is Glenn's 2006 Throwback helmet that he wore with the Cowboys. All components of this helmet are original, worn by Glenn, and consistent with Cowboys game helmets.
Riddell VSR4 model helmet, painted pro gloss white, in a size Large. This is the throwback style helmet that is worn each year by Dallas during one or two games. In 2006, the Cowboys wore these helmets against the Buccaneers on Thanksgiving Day, and again on Christmas Day when playing the Eagles. The helmet comes complete with a Schutt OPO-SW Single Wire mask as preferred by Glenn during his career. The mask is attached to the helmet with Schutt Clips on the top and on the sides. Phillips Schutt screws are used to secure the mask. The mask is dated 2005 while the clips are 2004. The chinstrap is an Adams Pro 100 hard cup, high mount, with the Adams names removed from the straps. Adams white buckles hold the chinstrap to the helmet in the high and low positions.
The decals of the helmet remain intact with no lifting or seperation from the helmet. They remain in excellent condition with water spots from cleaning. The center stripes are three seperate stripes as preferred by the Cowboys equipment staff. The white center stripe has been reapplied by the team, and trimmed to the name identifier on the rear, consistant with Cowboys helmets. Decals on the rear of the helmet include: Cowboys rear bumper, authentic team warning label, American Flag, NFL Shield, as well as T GLENN dymo tape identifier as used by the Cowboys since the 60's. A Riddell navy blue decal is placed on the front nose bumper of the helmet. Inside the helmet is the 2005 Riddell label from when the helmet was new, as well as two All American 2006 reconditioning stickers. The helmet also has #57 identifiers written in marker above each ear hole, indicating that the helmet was previously worn by possibly linebacker Kevin Burnett in 2005.
The helmet shows moderate wear on both the inside and outside of the helmet. Dark scuffs are found on the front, with moderate scuffs on the rear of the helmet. The facemask is in like new condition as is the chinstrap. Such can be expected from a receiver's helmet worn for only two games. The inside of the helmet has some wear to the padding and stain marks as well. This helmet displays very well. Sourced directly from the Dallas Cowboys through Game Exclusives. The helmet has a Prova ID tag inside the helmet beneath the padding. The Prova ID tag is placed on the helmet by the Dallas Cowboys when issued to the player. This ID tag verifies that the item is 100% authentic. Prova ID tags are used by the Dallas Cowboys as a way to "electronically fingerprint the item." You can go to their website, type in the tag ID number, and it will give you the history of that helmet including every game that it was used in. If you are unfamiliar with Prova ID tags, you may research them at www.provagroup.com. They are the leaders in the Collectible Identification business.
