| Drew Bledsoe. The old standby. Replaced twice by up and coming future stars. First it was Tom Brady, and most recently Tony Romo. However Drew Bledsoe was a 14 year NFL veteran and considered by many one of the top quarterbacks of all time. Fifth all time in pass attempts, and 5th all time in completions. He threw for over 44,000 yards, and three times went over 4,000 yards in a season. He threw for 251 touchdowns and only 206 interceptions. Yes, Tony Romo might get more attention now, but lets wait ten years and compare them. This is Bledsoe's 2006 "Last" year helmet that he wore with the Cowboys. All components of this helmet are original, worn by Bledsoe, and consistent with Cowboys game helmets.
Riddell VSR4 model helmet, painted pro gloss white, in a size EX-Large. Comes complete with a discontinued Schutt JOP-SW mask as preferred by Bledsoe during his entire career. The mask is attached to the helmet with Schutt Clips on the top and sides. Phillips Schutt screws are used to secure the mask. Their is no chinstrap included with the helmet.
The Star decals of the helmet remain intact with no lifting or seperation from the helmet. They remain in excellent condition with water spots from cleaning. Decals on the rear of the helmet include: Cowboys rear bumper, authentic team warning label, American Flag, NFL Shield, as well as BLEDSOE dymo tape identifier as used by the Cowboys since the 60's. A Riddell navy blue decal is placed on the front nose bumper of the helmet. The inside of the helmet has five sections of velcro used for communication speakers. A 2005 recertification sticker is found on the inside. In addition, #65 is written inside, indicating that the helmet was used at one other time by another player. This is common with Dallas helmets as many of the GU helmets have other numbers written on the interior.
The helmet shows excellent wear on both the inside and outside of the helmet. Light quarterback wear is found, consistant with a helmet that is worn for 2 games in a season. This helmet displays very well. Originally sourced directly from the Dallas Cowboys through Game Exclusives. The helmet has a Prova ID tag inside the helmet beneath the padding. The Prova ID tag is placed on the helmet by the Dallas Cowboys when issued to the player. This ID tag verifies that the item is 100% authentic. Prova ID tags are used by the Dallas Cowboys as a way to "electronically fingerprint the item." You can go to their website, type in the tag ID number, and it will give you the history of that helmet including every game that it was used in. If you are unfamiliar with Prova ID tags, you may research them at www.provagroup.com. They are the leaders in the Collectible Identification business.
