Game Worn Used Notre Dame Schutt Pro AiR II helmet. The Pro AiR II helmet was very popular in both college football as well as the NFL and was Schutt’s top of the line helmet for more than a decade. It was the preferred helmet used by the Irish during this period.
This helmet was manufactured in 1999 and saw the field in South Bend for at least two seasons. It has been repainted one last time, by the school, as shown by the paint over the chinstrap snap buttons. This was common during this era of Irish football. See the pics below where the helmets have painted chinstrap snap buttons from repainting at the school.
The helmet is original, unaltered in any manner, and complete with the exception of the chinstrap as kept by the school. The facemask is a Schutt NJOP, original to the helmet. it is secured by the original conventional clips at the top mounts and the grey shockblocker clips at the side mounts removed by the team and replace with conventional clips before releasing the helmet. The helmet shows light wear on both the exterior and interior of the helmet. A true Irish gamer of a rare model, in a very rare size, signed by a legend.
