Game used, worn SMU Mustangs helmet last used during the 2000 season. The helmet is original, complete, and unaltered or modified in any way.  

The striping and side logos on the helmet are original, positioned properly, and adhered well to the helmet with no lifting. The center stripe is a multi-stripe.  It and the logos are matched to the positioning on photos of SMU helmets during the 2000 season.   The facemask is a Schutt ROPO-DW model with a 2000 datecode.  The mask is secured to the helmet with its original conventional clips at the top mount and red shockblocker clips at the side mount locations of the mask.  The two (2) clips are damaged, cracked, and the inner straps have become brittle and have broke.  Neither of these issues detract from the helmet displaying well.  The helmet retains its original hardware.  Game decals include the team applied front bumper SMU and the decal over the rear neck bumper - MUSTANGS. There are no player identifiers inside of the helmet.   Finally, there is a reconditioning sticker found inside the helmet for the 2000 season - the first year that the Mustangs wore these center stripes on their helmets.    

The helmet is a classic SMU game used example, highly sought after by fans and helmet collectors alike.  If you know helmets, you know how rare SMU game used helmets are - only worn for three seasons and not easily found. Don’t wait on this one!
