Ohio State Buckeyes game used Riddell VSR4 model helmet from the 1997-2000 seasons.  Ohio State was one of the major schools that preferred to use the majority of Riddell helmets as well a one of the few power programs to use Riddell facemasks, and this helmet is a classic example of both.  

This helmet is complete with the exception of the chinstrap, kept by the team as common by the Buckeye staff during this period.  The helmet has its original paint, original multi-striping, and original Riddell front bumper.  The original Riddell ROPO-DW model mask is secured to the helmet with original Riddell conventional clips at the top and at the side mounts of the helmet.  The helmet has light reconditioned wear on the exterior, with deep gouges and scratches visible under the latest coat of paint.   There are reconditioning stickers on the inside of the helmet for the 1997, 1998, and 2000 seasons.

A #25 player identifier is applied to the rear - right side of the helmet and is adhered well.  The helmet has the original center multi-stripe as used by the Buckeyes during this period.  The stripe is original, properly positioned, and adhered to the helmet very well with no lifting. There is a Big Ten decal over the Riddell name on the front bumper and a black on clear team applied warning decal also on the right side rear of the helmet.  Finally, there are original buckeye award decals, awarded to the player, on the left side of the helmet.    

A great helmet - of a very desirable team.  If you collect Ohio State helmets, you know how rare they are - and the fact that they normally never are offered with the player identifiers, along with the fact that the buckeye decals are almost always removed from the helmet.  This one has both. 

A rare team in the helmet market, that is attributed to an actual player in the condition as it was when it was last used on the field.  Awesome.
