Game Worn Carolina Panthers Lamar Lathon 1996 helmet. Helmet is original and complete. The helmet was purchased from and sourced by an NFL player and Lathon friend/teammate that Lathon had given the helmet to. The Riddell VSR4 model helmet is a size large and original and complete as purchased. The helmet has a thin wire Schutt RJOP-DW model facemask from 1994, secured to the helmet with the original clips and hardware. The logos and Panther striping is original, properly positioned, and adhered to the helmet with slight lifting. The helmet has game decals on the rear including the team warning label, NFL shield decal, and Lathon’s #57 Panther player identifier. There is a 1996 reconditioning sticker on the interior near the left earhole, however the helmet has deep gouges under the paint in the front of the helmet indicating use in a prior season(s). The helmet does not have Lathon’s chinstrap as is often the case with NFL helmets sourced by the player - who prefers to keep and reuse his “broken in and comfortable” chinstrap. Great helmet of a Pro Bowl player, of a rare team helmet, ready for display.
