Game Worn Cincinnati Bengals 1995 helmet.   The Riddell SC1 model helmet is a size large and original and complete as purchased.  The SC1 model was introduced by Riddell in 1992 and included a small air pump - inside the helmet that the player could adjust the air pressure on the sides of the helmet. It was only produced for a very short time in 1992 and are very rare today. The helmet's manufacturing date of this helmet is 1992 and was reconditioned at least once for the 1995 season.

With the #32 on the rear, the facemask, and signed by Ki-Jana Carter, one would think that he wore this helmet. Ki-Jana was a Schutt guy - wearing Schutt helmets while at Penn State and in the NFL for the Bengals and Redskins. With the reconditioning sticker dated 1995, along with the mask and #32, we are not sure if Carter may have tried this helmet during his rookie injury shortened season, or if this helmet was worn by another player and then modified prior to its release. Mitchell Price, a defensive back, wore #32 for the Bengals from 1990 through the 1993 season.

The helmet has a thin wire Riddell ROPO-DW model facemask, dated 1995, secured to the helmet with the original Riddell clips at the top mounts and shockblocker clips securing the mask to the helmet at the sides.  The chinstrap is an Adams Pro100 model in a low mount configuration. The Adams names were removed at the Riddell factory with Riddell names screeened onto the straps - per NFL uniform guidelines at the time.   The Bengals stripes are original, properly positioned, and adhered to the helmet with no lifting, but with some seperation at the mid-point, as seen and matched to Bengals helmets from this era.  The helmet has game decals on the rear including the team warning label, which is applied under the rear neck bumper - as the Bengals often did, BENGALS rear bumper decal, NFL shield decal, and the #32 Bengals player identifier.  There is a All-American recondition sticker for the 1995 season on the interior near the earhole.  A great helmet, with a bit of a mystery, of a Bengal great - who's career was cut short by injury - but sure to be the centerpiece of your collection.
