Game Worn Arizona State Sundevils helmet from the 1993-95 seasons.  The helmet was worn by star defensive tackle/end Shawn Swayda. The large sized VSR3 helmet is original, unaltered, and complete except for the chinstrap.

As mentioned, the helmet is a Riddell VSR3 model helmet - with the pac style inflatible padding. The facemask is a an early Schutt RJOP-DW model mask - with great wear. The mask is secured to the helmet using the original 1993-4 clips at the top mounts, and white shockblocker clips at the side mounts of the helmet.  The helmet has its original jaw pads, in well worn condition, yet in excellent shape with all snaps intact. 

The helmet exhibits heavy wear on both the interior and exterior of the helmet with gouges, scraps, paint transfers, and heavy decal damage.  The side decals show a season full of wear as does the center stripe - with extreme trench wear to the front of the helmet.  Swayda's player identifier number decal remains the rear of the helmet and is original to the helmet. The name "SWAYDA" is marked twice in the helmet interior - written in marker along the earhole along with his name in dymo tape - from a later season, positioned over the written name.
