Game used, worn SMU Mustangs helmet last used during the 1997 season. The large sized VSR4 model helmet is original, complete, and unaltered or modified in any way.  The helmet has a manufacturing date stamp inside the helmet from 1995, so was used for three (3) seasons before its release.

SMU wore this style helmet with no center stripes from 1997 through the 1999 season.  The side logos on the helmet are original, positioned properly, and adhered well to the helmet with no lifting.  The facemask is a Schutt 1st generation ROPO-DW model with a 1995 datecode.  The mask is secured to the helmet with its original conventional clips at the top and red shock-blockers clips at side mount locations of the mask.   The inner straps of the shock-blockers have become brittle and broke, however they can be replaced and the helmet displays beautifully as it is. The helmet retains its original hardware.  Game decals include the team applied front and rear bumper SMU decals. The helmet has it's original Adams Pro 100 high mount chinstrap, with the 1997 date on the straps.

The helmet is a classic SMU game used example, highly sought after by fans and helmet collectors alike. . Don’t wait on this one!
