1992-5 game worn Miami Dolphins Riddell VSR3 model helmet. The helmet is all original. The helmet is complete with the original interior padding, original Schutt OPO-DW Dolphin teal facemask, secured to the helmet with the original clips and hardware. The original Dolphins logos and striping is adhered well to the helmet. The helmet comes with all of the game decals on the rear of the helmet. The warning label on the helmet appears to have been applied over the original decal and states that the helmet is for display - as applied by NFL teams during this era when they released a helmet to the public. If you know Dolphins helmets from this era, you know how rare this helmet is. The helmet has heavy wear on the exterior - primarily on the front with deep gouges.
The helmet was manufactured in 1992 and has two (2) different reconditioning stickers found on the inside of the helmet. The helmet has period Riddell vinyl jaw pads in well worn condition. The facemask, dated 1995, is a model that was not very popular with NFL teams - made famous by Drew Brees and Randy Moss among others. Typically worn by defensive back - which we believe this one to be with the exceptional wear on the front of the helmet. As there are no player identifiers in or on the helmet, we have searched literally hundreds of photos looking for this mask on a Dolphins player - with one result shown below.
