Eric Metcalf. The name struck fear into the minds of opposing Special Teams Coaches. This was Metcalf's helmet for his rookie season of 1989 and 1990 after being reconditioned. With the lack of the NFL shield decal on the rear, it is unlikely that it was used following the 1990 season. The helmet is complete with the exception of the chinstrap. The Pro AiR shell in a medium standard size with a thick rear sizer pad and thicker BIKE handed jawpads to accommodate Metcalf's small sized head. The helmet's original thin wire Schutt OPO mask is secured to the helmet with its original clips and hardware. Interesting to note that there is an additional set of side mounting holes drilled in the helmet for double clips securing the sides as seen used by Metcalf in the late 80s and early 90s. The helmet exhibits light to moderate wear on both the exterior and interior. The original Browns stripes remain on the helmet and are in good condition with no lifting. Metcalf's player identifier #21 is on the rear of the helmet as used by the Browns during this era. Great helmet of a 13 year, 7 team, 3 time Pro Bowl NFL player.
