Game Used Maryland Terrapins Riddell WD1 helmet.  The XL sized helmet has a date code of 1990 in the crown of the helmet so it had been used for several seasons.   Maryland used red helmets until 1991, hence the inside of this helmet is red from prior season usage.  The helmet has a size tag of size 8.    The helmet is huge, or in the words or Norman Thayer, "humongous."  Helmets this large are extremely rare and very hard to find. 

Helmet shows moderate wear to the exterior and interior of the helmet.  Helmet is complete and all original and unmodified in any way.  The helmet has its original Riddell WD1 model padding, Riddell Pac style vinyl jaw pads, Riddell JOP model facemask from 1993, secured to the helmet with the original clips and hardware.  There is no chinstrap with the helmet.   There are no player identifiers marked on the inside of the helmet.  The helmet has a reconditioning sticker on the inside for the 1992 season - the first year Maryland used the black helmet.  The striping and logo decal are original, properly positioned, and adhered to the helmet with no lifting.  There  is a warning label on the rear that the school applied when it released the helmet - basically stating that it should not be used - for display only.  Great original helmet to add to your gamer collection.  At the asking price, with the free shipping, don't wait on this one.
