New York Jets game used helmet from the 1987-90 seasons.  The Riddell AF2 model helmet is attributed to star quarterback Ken O’Brien. The helmet is a size large and is all original and unaltered. The helmet does not have the facemask or chinstrap an we did not install an alternate mask or chinstrap, electing to keep the helmet original.  The buyer can decide whether to replace the missing items or leave the helmet the way it is.  The helmet has the original AF2 padding and the original Riddell Pac style vinyl jawpads.  The helmet exhibits moderate wear to the exterior and interior of the helmet.

The logo decals of the helmet are original, positioned properly, and adhered to the helmet very well with no lifting.  There is old adhesive outlining the logos on both sides of the helmet.  The rear of the helmet boasts O’Brien’s #7 player identifier on the rear of the helmet while another #7 is hand written on the helmet interior.  Interesting that the exterior warning label has been removed from the helmet with an outline of where it was located.    The helmet shows where two different styles of facemasks were installed to the helmet in its lifetime with two (2) different holes in the helmet sides to secure the two (2) different styles.  This makes perfect sense as O’Brien wore an 80s style straight clip single wire OPO during the1987 season before switching to a reverse clip single wire OPO for the ‘88 through 1990 seasons.
