Game used UTEP helmet from the 1986-90 seasons.  The 7 3/8 size large helmet is complete including the chinstrap.  The Miners wore this identical style from 1986-7 but with the stripe pattern reversed - a white center stripe with flanking blue side stripes.   They switched the stripe pattern to this style in 1988 which remained in use through the 1990 season.   The helmet has an original manufacturing date of 1986 with a chinstrap dated 1990 - the reason for the 1986-1990 described use.  

The exterior and interior of the helmet shows moderate wear.  The helmet has a Schutt 1986 OPO model mask, secured to the helmet with its original clips and hardware.  The logos and the striping of the helmet are positioned properly and adhered to the helmet well with no lifting.  The chinstrap is a low mount Adams hardcup chinstrap with the above mentioned 1990 date code.  There is a team applied #19 player identifier decals on the rear of the helmet as the Miners used during this period.  The name "KING" is written on the inside of the helmet.  Great helmet of a team rarely seen available. This logo is rarely seen in the collectible market as most of this small school helmets had new style logos applied to the common colored orange helmet that the team used.   Don't wait on this one.
