Game Worn Tulsa Hurricanes Riddell WD1 model helmet in a rare 7 5/8 XL size.  The helmet was originally manufactured in 1983 and used for multiple seasons.  The WD1 helmet was very popular in both college football as well as the NFL in the early 80s and continued as one of Riddell’s top of the line helmets for more than a decade.  

The helmet is a size XL 7 5/8 in game used condition with scuffs and gouges.  The helmet is original and complete except for the chinstrap.  The Hurricanes used gold helmets when the helmet was new in 1983 and again for the 1984 season.  For the 1985 season, the team painted their helmets blue - a huge change from their recognizable and historic gold.  This helmet was one of the original blue painted helmets with a gold interior and complete with a 1985 reconditioning sticker on the interior.  

The exterior and interior show great gridiron game wear with the WD1 padding remaining in complete and good condition.  The facemask is a Riddell 1980s OPO model, original, in great shape and is secured to the helmet using the original clips and hardware. 

The helmet is original as sourced to us.  The logos are original, positioned properly, and adhered to the helmet very well with no lifting.   There is a player identifier #73 on the rear of the helmet.
