Game Worn Green Bay Packers Riddell WD1 model helmet. The helmet was manufactured in 1985 as indicated the datecode in the crown of the helmet. The helmet is all original complete as sourced. It has all of the internal WD1 padding, including the jaw pads. The mask is a Riddell NJOP model from 1997. Interesting to note - that the mask is original to the helmet, however it is a bit lighter green than the customary dark green masks used by Green Bay. The mask is secured with the original Schutt clips on all four mount positions. The rear of the helmet has the original warning label. The chinstrap is a Riddell Pac style soft cup and is original to the helmet exhibiting moderate to heavy wear. The logos and striping is original and are adhered to the helmet very well with no lifting. The shell exhibit light to moderate wear with several deep gouges. There is a "5" identifier inside the helmet. The Packers equipment staff marked the "5" as the initial year of the helmet - 1985. We own many Packers gamers with a "4" or "5" marked on the interior. Excellent game used helmet of a tough team to find. If you know or collect Packers helmets, you know they are very rare and rarely are made available in the collectible/memorabilia market. Great helmet for display.
