Game Worn Colts helmet. The Riddell Pac3 helmet in a large shell has moderate wear from the multiple seasons that it was used. The helmet was manufactured in 1979, and was used through the 1986 season. The facemask of the helmet is a thin wire NOPO model from 1986, secured with the original clips and hardware. The helmet is original and complete with the vinyl Pac3 style jawpads and the original padding as sourced.
The helmet is all original and has not been altered or modified. The helmet logo decals and center stripe are proper and original to the helmet. They are positioned properly and adhered to the exterior of the helmet well, with no lifting to the logos and some minor curling to the edges of the center stripe. The side logos exhibit the smaller horseshoe nail holes as well as the more narrow top opening of the shoe as used by the Colts during this era. There are no player identifiers in or on the rear of the helmet. There is a "7" marked in the crown of the helmet, as shown in the last photo above. We feel that this is the size of the helmet rather than a player identifier. Additionally there is a "916" marked above each earhole of the helmet. A nice helmet, getting tougher to find, in a rare very desirable model, with a rare original mask and hardware, ready to display and become the centerpiece for your collection.
