“Your clear shell green Jets is only the second one of those helmets I have ever seen.”  These the words from a clear shell helmet collector.  Very rare New York Jets MaxPro Clear Shell Helmet.  The helmet is a Kineomatic 21 model which was a carry over model from the Marietta manufacturing days in the early to mid 1970s.  The helmet has an original MaxPro sticker on the interior with a manufacturing date of  June, 1980.  The helmet is in excellent condition with very nice paint, great logos, and remaining original leather padding including the very rare original Marietta/MaxPro leather jawpads.  The helmet has a Schutt NOPO model facemask secured to the helmet with reproduction clips yet retains its original hardware.  The mask has a datecode of 1984.  The helmet is a very rare XXL size of 8 - 8 1/8.  What?  Are you kidding me?  They made helmets that large?  Come on!  The helmet retains its original leather front and rear pad and two of its crown "tube" pads but is missing both lateral side pads.  Clear shell helmets as you know are very rare and highly sought after.  This is a very rare model helmet of a team that is tough to find in a clear shell.
