Game used Washington Redskins Riddell Micro Fit helmet.  The helmet is original, and is unaltered or modified in any way including the facemask clips - which we have not replaced on the helmet.  The massive sized helmet has a date code on the interior of 1977 and was worn through the 1983 season given the reconditioning sticker on the helmet interior and the 1980s era facemask of the helmet. The helmet has multiple holes at the facemask side mount locations, indicating a previous 70s style mask had been attached to the helmet for earlier seasons.  The helmet does not have a size sticker on the interior but appears to be a massive size - at least 7 1/2.  It shows heavy wear on the exterior and light to moderate use on the interior of the helmet, however the original leather jawpads are heavily worn - most likely used for several seasons. 

The helmet is complete including the original chinstrap but without the logo decals.  It is uncertain whether the logos were removed by the team prior to its release, or if the helmet was used later as a practice helmet without the logos, but is priced accordingly.   The buyer can decide to replace the logos or leave the helmet as it is.   The helmet has its original Micro Fit padding, front wildcat nose bumper, original leather jawpads, and the original Schutt NJOP model facemask.  The mask is no longer secured to the helmet, but the original broken clips remain attached to the helmet along with the original hardware.  

The striping on the helmet is original, positioned properly, and adhered to the helmet with no lifting - but with some game damage.  There are no player identifiers on the helmet rear or found in the interior.  The helmet has reconditioning stickers on the interior for the 1981 and 1983 seasons and remenants of earlier season stickers. 

An extremely rare helmet, fresh to the hobby, of a highly sought after team, in a rare XL size.  You know how rare original Redskins helmets are, and not many are finer examples than this one.  Less knowledgeable or beginning collectors may grumble a bit at the lack of logos on the sides, however it is what it is and in the original condition when we obtained the helmet.
