Game used Chicago Fire WFL team helmet from their only season of 1974. The helmet is an extremely rare 100MH clear shell model manufactured by MacGregor. The helmet style was only worn by the Fire for one season. This has got to be the nicest, most complete Chicago Fire helmet we have ever seen - both in collections as well as sold over the years. The helmet is complete and all original has not been altered in any way. The helmet has the leather suspension and padding, leather jawpads, and all original hardware. The helmet has a Schutt 70's style OPO facemask - secured to the helmet using reproduction clips yet retains its original hardware. The logos and striping are original to the helmet and were applied under the shell prior to the painting process - which was also done under the shell. The same method applied to the WFL logo on the rear of the helmet - it was also applied under the shell. The helmet is all original and remains in excellent condition with only light wear to the interior, with moderate wear to the exterior and the facemask. Their is a #42 player identifier on the inside above the earhole. An extremely rare helmet that would very well be the centerpiece of any WFL fan, helmet collectors collection, or tavern owner in the metro Chicago area.
