Buffalo Bills Riddell Kra-Lite TK suspension helmet. The helmet is from 1973 and exhibits heavy game wear to both the exterior and interior. The helmet at one point was converted to a lamp as indicated by the washer impression on the red center stripe above the center hole, along with the screw hole at the bottom of the BD9 two bar plastic facemask. The helmet has a mold date of 1973. The two bar mask also has a datecode of 1973. At one point while the helmet was used on the field, a cage type facemask was installed - in addition to the two bar. The helmet is original and complete with the original suspension, original jawpads, and the original optional rear bumper pad. Tough helmet to find, and the fact of its conversion to a lamp at one point does not diminish from its history of onfield use nor its value as an early suspension helmet.
