Game used University of Kansas helmet from 1972.  The helmet is an extremely rare 100MH clear shell model manufactured by MacGregor.  The Jayhawks wore this dark royal helmet style from 1970 through the 1976 season.  The helmet is complete and all original.  The helmet has the leather suspension and padding, leather jawpads, and all original hardware.  The helmet has a Schutt 70's style NOP facemask - secured to the helmet using reproduction clips yet retains its original hardware including the brass slotted screws.  The logos are original to the helmet and were applied under the shell prior to the painting process - which was also done under the shell.  The helmet is all original and remains in excellent condition with only light wear to the exterior and interior.   Please note that the helmet was converted to a lamp with an additional small hole in the helmet top as a small part of the leather suspension removed for the lamp parts.  This was a common practice with college helmets of the early 70s.  Due to these slight modifications, we have priced the helmet accordingly.   An extremely rare helmet that would very well be the centerpiece of any Kansas fan or helmet collectors collection.
