Game Used Nebraska Cornhuskers Wilson F2022 Suspension Helmet.  This style of helmet was used by the Huskers from 1970 through the early 1980s.  For the 1982 season Nebraska switched to a red facemask.  

The Wilson suspension helmets are very rare and highly sought after in the helmet collector markt. The team during this period used primarily Riddell. Helmets.   A quick search on internet photo sites shown few game photos with playeers wearing Wilson helmets - as indicated by the two (2) side suspension rivets below the “N” logos.  

These helmets were, and are today, rare and quickly bought up by collectors - rarely if ever to reappear for sale.   We have been doing this a long time and this is only the second Wilson Nebraska helmet we have seen.  

The helmet is complete including the rare Wilson chinstrap.  The helmet itself shows moderate wear to the exterior and interior of the helmet. The padding is original, in great condition with some wear to the forehead area, and complete including the original Riddell Pac style vinyl jawpads.  The logos are perfect and colorful, properly positioned with no issues.  Old, dried adhesive can be found boarding the logos as shown in the photo below. The paint is perfect on this helmet with no issues.  The facemask is a Schutt 70s style NJOP model secured to the helmet with reproduction clips, yet retaining its original zinc coated slotted hardware.  An excellent, very rare model of a Huskers helmet - that you may never see another one like it.
