1969 Wilson F2000 Chicago Bears Game Worn Used football helmet.   The helmet is complete and original as sourced to us with no modifications or alterations of any kind and shows extreme game wear to the exterior and logo decals.  The helmet does not have any player identifiers inside the shell so we have not been able to attribute it to a specific player.  With the extreme wear and lack of identifiers, it is possible that after seasons of game use it was relegated to a practice helmet.    

The Wilson rare F2000 model helmet is all original and complete with the interior leather suspension padding.   The helmet has what can be described as the most beautiful 1960s clip on, thin wire original NJOP model facemask that we have ever seen! Simply Beautiful. The Bears under owner and Head Coach George Halas used almost exclusively Wilson helmets. Halas was on the Wilson Board of Directors, but also felt that the padding that the Wilson helmets had provided better protection to his players than the Riddell suspension helmets offered. 

The above mentoned mask is secured to the helmet using reproduction Schutt clips but retains what we assume to be the original hardware.  When we purchased the helmet, the original clips were long gone and the mask was secured to the helmet with modern Schutt clips but without the modern Schutt hardware.   It appears that the orginal owner wanted to reattach the loose mask to the helmet but knew enough to reuse the original hardware to do so.  The helmet's interior is very nice and contains the original F2000 leather jawpads, which also were incorporated into the helmet's lateral protection. .  The helmet is painted Chicago Bear dark navy over a royal shell as often the case during this era.  The helmet is in very nice , awesome display condition with heavy game/practice wear with paint and mask transfers and extreme paint loss to the shell exterior.   The logos of the helmet are in well worn condition and what remains of them are adhered to the helmet well with no lifting.   Nice very rare gamer with a very rare beautiful facemask, from the Golden Age of Football,  at a great price.
