Game Worn San Francisco 49ers Joe Arenas helmet from the 1953 season. The helmet is original and complete as purchased from long time 49ers collector and award winning author, Martin S. Jacobs.
The Rawlings RT model helmet, produced by Riddell, is a clear shell Tenite helmet, painted 49ers red from the inside of the shell. The center seam/stripe is painted silver. The helmet has its original chinstrap as used by Arenas. The helmet has Arenas written on the rear neck strap of the suspension as well as his #22 marked above the right ear hole.
The helmet exhibits very little warpage as often seen on helmets from this era due to the material in which they were made. The helmet is in very fine condition, unusual for helmets that are almost 75 years old. Photos show Arenas wearing this model/style of helmet until the 49ers started wearing facemasks.
Outstanding helmet of a 49ers star, rarely seen in the hobby. This one is special from the era, the team, the star player, the model, the provenance, and the museum quality condition, ready to become the center piece of your collection!
