Game Used USC Trojans helmet used from 1951 through the 1954 season.  The helmet is a Riddell RT model used by the Trojans and is the only one we have ever seen like it.  The helmet remains in excellent condition with the original cardinal and yellow paint.

The Riddell RT helmet model originally used wrap-around riveted jaw pads when they were introduced in the early 1940s through the early 1950s. When Riddell introduced their RI-110 model plastic tubular face guard, the jaw pads were then riveted on the interior of the helmet allowing the facemask to be installed through the helmet shell.

The interior suspension is intact and in very good condition.  The helmet has remained either on a mannequin head or a stand since we have owned it - thus taking the pressure off of the helmet sides which causes bending of the sides. The face guard is an original Riddell RI-110 model "Stubby" one bar mask. It is secured to the helmet with the original slotted screws and slotted chinstrap buttons. Helmet collectors know how rare these masks are and the hundreds of dollars that they sell for when one becomes available.  No chinstrap was included when we purchased the helmet but we do have several examples and are happy to provide one to the new owner with the purchase of the helmet.

The helmet is original and unmodified in any way.  A very rare and highly sought after team and helmet, in excellent condition for an 80 year old helmet.  The helmet was sourced from an elderly gentleman who was an alumni of USC.    A great USC helmet and example of an early Riddell helmet in wonderful display condition, at a very good price.
