When Bud Dupree hung up his helmet following the 2020 week 12 game against the Ravens, it would be the last time that he wore a Steelers helmet - with that iconic logo on just one side of the helmet. The Riddell Precision Fit model was well worn after a shortened season of war in the trenches, with Dupree tearing his ACL during that game. Dupree would finish his six seasons in Pittsburgh with 39.5 Sacks, 100 quarterback hits, 231 tackles, 8 forced fumbles, and one interception - that he returned for a touchdown. Not a bad career for the first round pick out of Kentucky, but he was not done. On to the Titans and last season with the Rams.
The helmet is all original and complete with the Precision Fit interior leather padding, custom embroidered label attributing it to Dupree, original facemask, original clips and hardware, all game decals, front bumper, and chinstrap. The massive heavy helmet was originally sourced straight from the Steelers through their Pro Shop at a price of $2K, and has their hologram on the helmet rear. Great helmet from a very solid NFL superstar. The helmet has heavy wear, was worn for all games that season, and is easily photo matched.
