2011 Tyler Grisham Game Worn Helmet, used during the preseason in 2011 and then during the rest of the season as part of the Steelers practice squad. Yes, Grisham was one of the last cuts in 2011 and brought back on the practice squad after playing during the 2009 season with the team.
The ION 4D was one of Schutt's new helmets, but quickly was part of a suit filed by Riddell and forced to be discontinued. This led Schutt to their "Vengeance" line - going head to head with Riddell's new Speed model. Today, the ION 4D is becoming a collector's item and are quickly gobbled up by helmet collectors. Not many were made and far fewer were used in the NFL making it a sought after model of helmet.
The large sized helmet is original as sourced and complete less the chinstrap - typically kept by the player to us with his next helmet, and the left jawpad. The center stripe and the logo are original, properly positioned, and adhered to the helmet well with no lifting. Grisham's #19 are positioned on the rear of the helmet, however were not worn on the front of the helmet during the preseason. There is an additional #11 player identifier on the inside of the helmet is often used by the Steelers equipment department.
Great helmet from a sought after team in a very rare model. The helmet has light to moderate preseason wear and can be photo matched to those preseason games. It may not be the centerpiece of your Steelers gamers, but it tells a story - one in which your friends will enjoy and actually learn from!
