Game Worn Used San Diego Chargers Riddell VSR4 model helmet. The helmet is attributed to star receiver and return specialist Tim Dwight. The helmet has an original date code inside and outside of the helmet of 19. The helmet is original, unmodified, and is complete except for the chinstrap - kept by Dwight. Dwight wore the helmet for the first five (5) weeks of the 2001 season before switching to a Schutt Pro AiR II helmet, in which he used his Riddell high mount chinstrap from this helmet.
The size medium helmet shows moderate to heavy wear on the exterior, with scuffs and scrapes. There is heavy shifting/bunching to the ride side logo of the helmet with seperated laminate. The helmet has some mouse damage to the internal padding for years in the Charger storage room as shown in the photos. The buyer may decide whether to relace it or leave it original.
The Schutt OPO-SW model mask, dated 1993, is secured to the helmet with the original conventional clips at the top and shockblockers at the side mounts. The Chargers logos are original, properly positioned, and aside from the right side previously mentioned bunching, are adhered to the helmet well. Game decals include #85 player identifiers on the rear, the NFL shield, the team white on clear warning label also on the rear of the helmet, and the American Flag, applied to NFL helmets for the first time since 1990 just weeks before Dwight stopped wearing the helmet. Great game helmet, of the Chargers star receiver, ready for display.
