Game Used, worn 2000 New York Jets Riddell VSR4 model helmet. The helmet was manufactured in 2000 and all indications are that it was only used for that season and then released/kept, etc. The helmet is dated 2000, the facemask is dated 2000, there are no reconditioning stickers on the interior of the helmet, nor is there an American Flag decal on the rear that the NFL started wearing in September of 2001. The helmet is in excellent display condition exhibiting light to moderate wear on the exterior with moderate to heavy wear on the mask as well as the interior of the helmet. The helmet interior padding includes some small holes that appear to be punched into the crown liner - perhaps when released to prevent the helmet from being worn or used again.
The helmet is complete with all interior padding, jaw pads, and a Schutt ROPO-UB-DW model mask from 2000, secured to the helmet with its original conventional clips at the top mounts and white shock-blocker clips at the mask side mounts - as the Jets wore during this period. The striping and logos of the helmet are original, properly positioned on the helmet, and adhered well with no lifting. Game decals include the forest green on clear warning label, NFL shield, and JETS rear bumper on the rear, while a forest green Riddell decal covers the red Riddell name on the front bumper pad.
The helmet was used in the NFL, from all we can tell, for just one season. There are no player identifiers inside the helmet and the traditional player identifier decal used by the Jets on the rear bumper, has been removed. Great helmet, in perfect display condition, from a very popular team.
