Arizona Cardinals Game Worn/Team Issued helmet from the 2000-2001 seasons. We believe the helmet to be team issued or a camp/preseason helmet as there is very little wear on the exterior, with the exception of transfer marks on the facemask.  The Riddell rare AF2 model helmet is all original in a size of 7 1/4.  This helmet spent most of it's life sitting on a shelf in the Cardinals equipment room - waiting for a player with an head that required the specialized AF2 model.  The AF2 had ran its course in the early to mid 1990s, with Riddell's new VSR series of helmets becoming the preferred helmets in the NFL.  The helmet was reconditioned as least once as the helmet was repainted to the Cardinals metallic white paint.  

The helmet is original as sourced, unaltered since released, and matches examples of Cardinals game used helmets. The helmet is complete with all interior AF2 padding as well as the original Riddell vinyl jawpads.   It has the original Cardinals decals on the sides, properly positioned on the helmet and adhered to the helmet very well with no lifting.  It was sent back to the reconditioner following the 2001 season where it was taken out of service and placed on a shelf until our purchase. 

The helmet has all game decals used by the team, including the NFL Shield, team applied small warning label as used during the 2000 season, and CARDINALS rear bumper.   The helmet has a Schutt ROPO-DW model facemask, dated from 2001, secured to the helmet with Schutt conventional clips at the top and Stabilizer clips at the side mounts.  As the helmet has a 2001 mask but does not have the American Flag on the rear of the helmet - worn during the regular season following 911, indicates to us that the helmet was worn in training camp and the preseason, but was not used by a rostered player during the regular season. Further proof or indication is that the helmet has had the player identifiers removed from both the rear of the helmet exterior as well as the interior of the helmet.

The helmet has very light wear to the outside and inside, and is in perfect display condition.  The helmet is a very rare AF2 model, produced in very limited quantities at the Riddell factory and reserved exclusively for NFL teams.  Where have you ever seen or where are you going to find an AF2 helmet this new, from an NFL team, with this provenance?  It does not get any better!
