Game Worn Ray Ellis Philadelphia Eagles helmet.  The Riddell AF2 model helmet was worn by Ellis in 1985 - his last year playing for the Eagles.  The helmet shows a full season of wear on the exterior and interior.  The original mask is long gone - replaced in the last 35 years by an incorrect Riddell 80s style OPO.  Ellis wore a Schutt NOP mask during the 1985 season.  The hardware securing this funky mask are not original to the helmet nor is the chinstrap.  However, the shell is all original and complete and an excellent example of a very tough helmet to find in the market - an original Eagles helmet from the 1980s - attributed to a player, a starter and a star of the Philly defense. 

The helmet was sourced from a major auction house and comes with their LOA.  The actual helmet is original and has not been altered or modified.  The helmet contains all of the original AF2 model padding.  The helmet logo decals are proper and original to the helmet.  They are positioned properly for 1985 aligned with the outside edge of the front sweatband bumper.  Interesting to note that the left logo had been previously installed under the front bumper as the Eagles had positioned their logos prior to 1985 and the original screw hole remains in the decal.  The Eagles equipment staff used silver paint inside the circle.  I have seen this once before on a previously owned Eagles helmet.  The right decal was new in 1985, positioned correctly.  It is signed and personalized by Ray Ellis.  A very rare helmet, tough to find anywhere, in a rare very desirable model.  The helmet is easily refurbished with original components if the new owner wishes.  It is priced accordingly.
