Game Used San Francisco 49ers helmet from the early 1950s.  The helmet is a Wilson, RP model worn by many teams in the NFL during this era.  The helmet model was made popular by players of the 49ers and the Chicago Bears with both teams continuing to use the Wilson brand through the late 1970s.   The helmet is complete with the leather interior padding, integrated jaw padding, and the Wilson off-white single bar plastic facemask.  The mask is secured to the helmet using the original hardware.  The helmet has been painted multiple times with silver overspray on the facemask ends mounted to the helmet.  The helmet exhibits full season wear along with storage wear from after its use in the NFL.  The helmet was sourced to us from a private party in California who claimed to have owned it for more than 60 years.  A great helmet and example of early helmet in wonderful display condition, at a very good price.
